Active Citizens FE is a community interest company and national network for post-16 citizenship, learner voice and social action. Following the closure of the LSIS Post-16 Citizenship Support Programme in August 2011, this new non-funded network will develop in response to the ideas of members. However, the network’s central aim is to build on relationships between citizenship practitioners in the post-compulsory sector across the country to establish a dynamic professional community which will:

  • Promote excellence and innovation in learning for effective democratic participation and social action
  • Promote the further development of post-16 citizenship education
  • Offer members a range of opportunities and services including: networking and sharing; learning resources; events; training; special projects; and a regular e-news bulletin.

Bernadette Joslin, Helen Wiles and Rob Pope are proud to launch Active Citizens FE.

In the face of street riots, rising youth unemployment and escalating costs for post-school education, effective active citizenship learning for young people has never been more important. So, join us now and play your part as a member of the only national organisation entirely dedicated to the cause of post-16 citizenship and closely related areas.

Join the network now – it’s free.
