Talk about respect project
Extra information for project partners

Picture
On this page project partners in the Talk About Respect project can access and share project documentation. This page will be updated throughout the project with links to project documents. Materials and resources for use with staff and learners involved in the project are available on a dedicated page of the ACFE website.

  • Host a conference for at least 100 students
  • Use 'Tracking the learner journey', ACFE's assessment framework for the project (see below)
  • Make strong links between evidence of learning for the project with requirements for speaking and listening skills in Functional Skills English and/or GCSE English
  • Use video as a key resource for the project (support available)

See also the 2015-16 project handbook.

Assessment Framework
A key objective for the project is that partner colleges develop their capacity, not only to provide, but also assess learning for speaking and listening skills, public speaking and active citizenship. Colleges participating during 2015-16 will work with a revised assessment framework in conjunction with an active citizenship activity and project review activity.

Public Speaking Workshops
  • ACFE are providing free half day interactive workshops on public speaking skills as part of the project
  • One workshop per project (or projects can use budget to buy more)
  • Workshops are for students who are involved in the project as members of conference organising groups
  • This year project partners can choose from previously used providers to run public speaking workshops that will be paid for by ACFE or use providers of their own choosing. See guidance document on arrangements for this. If you choose to approach Speakers Trust for a workshop, please use this booking form.

Video in the project

Julian Marshall from MLM Learning Design will take the lead on support for use of video in the project. MLM have produced guidance on using video for projects and Julian will be contacting projects to get started. Contact details for Julian and his colleague Ruth are:

Ruth (Project Coordinator): ruth@mlmlearningdesign.com

    • Resources for exploring the theme of respect
    • Public speaking resources
    • Citizenship resources
